A holiday home to fall in love with

The history of Casa Bella Mirada dates back to 1890.

For more than 130 years, the townhouse has stood on the eastern outskirts of Artà with a fantastic view of the Serres de Llevant. Originally, the rear part of the townhouse was used for drying the leaves of Mallorcan dwarf palms. Women have traditionally woven baskets of the palm leaves, passing on this art from generation to generation. Even today, basketweaving is one of the most famous arts and crafts associated with Artà.

Today, the new and sustainably renovated townhouse is a very special holiday home you can rent at any time of year for your holiday.

Stylishly renovated, with first-class furnishings

Cosy spaces

The terraces

The terrace on the first level is inviting for resting, reading, and chatting. It is also an ideal place for an outdoor workout or yoga session. The balcony on the second level, which is located in front of the study, offers a magnificent view beyond Casa Bella Mirada into the mountains and to the sea. Take a break by relaxing on the balcony during breaks between videoconferences.

The roof terrace

A roof terrace with a view of the town of Artà, beyond the churches and the pilgrimage church and into the Serres de Llevant, extends over the entire area of the annexe. You can sit at the round table, drink coffee, enjoy an aperitif, or eat together in the covered area of the terrace. The other side of the terrace features sun loungers and a heated jacuzzi. Get that pure spa feeling with a view of the landscape or the stars.

Eat with gusto in comfortable ease.

The dining room

The dining room is connected to the kitchen via a spacious opening. The large dining table can be perfectly set for six people and is ideal for a sumptuous breakfast, extended brunch, or opulent dinner. The table is set with attractive tableware, stylish cutlery, and fine glassware, as befits a sophisticated meal. And afterwards, the surroundings encourage you to sit down, engage in conversation, and get carried away. Wind down the evening the cosy way, with the fire still crackling in the fireplace. And for even more cosiness, switch to lounging on the large couch.

Both bedrooms contain spacious double beds measuring 2 x 2 metres. The air conditioning ensures pleasant nights during the hotter months. The bedroom to the terrace has very special charm: a small niche filled with many pillows, where you can relax with a book and immerse yourself in the solitude of reading.

That feeling of total well-being

The bathrooms in the main house

There are two bathrooms on the first floor of the main house. They belong to the bedrooms and are connected via the corridor. Both baths feature clear lines, beige sand tones, and the original natural stone walls. They are a place for wellness and care. They are spaces of peace and well-being. Heating and underfloor heating ensure pleasant warmth even in cooler months. A freestanding bathtub is the focus of the larger bathroom.

Sleeping in the back building

The annexe

You can enter the annexe from the patio. The ground floor of the annexe features a spacious walk-in closet (dressing room). The small desk offers space for answering a few emails, skyping with the family at home, or retouching and sharing the holiday photos of the day. A small staircase leads up to the bedroom. The vault tells the history of Casa Bella Mirada, when this room was still used to dry the dwarf palms. The annexe has a large en-suite bathroom with two sinks and a shower with a splash shower. Air conditioning and underfloor heating provide a comfortable indoor climate all year round.

Al fresco space

The patio

Bathed in light. This is how the patio at the centre of Casa Bella Mirada is best described. The original stone wall lends the patio a special ambience. From here, you can enter the annexe or the utility room, and walk up to the terraces. And the covered outdoor seating area is a cosy spot for every season and every day. The large table offers plenty of space for breakfast and dinner – for two, with family, or with friends.

Cook on your own and enjoy

The kitchen

The kitchen can be entered through a spacious double door. As in the rest of Casa Bella Mirada, this is where modernity and originality meet. The kitchen area has everything a cooking lover dreams of: ceramic hob (cooktop), gas hob (cooktop), oven, and microwave oven. You’ll find the kitchen to be exquisitely equipped with kitchen utensils, kettle, coffee machine, sharp kitchen knives, sufficient pots and pans, bowls, and helpful cooking aids. You’ll of course also find beautiful cutlery, dishes, and glasses for a properly set table. When, if not on holiday, do you really have time to live up to your passion as a amateur chef? The fabulous shopping opportunities in the vicinity with Mallorcan food from local farmers and organic products make it even easier and more enjoyable. A fireplace and comfortable armchairs just add to making the kitchen a welcome meeting place within Casa Bella Mirada.

Just relax

The living room

The living room is accessible through two magnificent double doors. The living room is a central gathering space both in summer and winter. Its furnishings combine traditional and modern elements. A natural stone wall radiates originality. The spacious couches and armchairs invite you to read, sink into a good book, converse, or simply unwind and make yourself at home. Of course, in the living room you will also find a large flat screen with Internet TV, an Xbox and a modern stereo system. On the cooler days of the year, the chimney stove radiates cosy warmth.

For the essentials

The utility room

People used to work in this townhouse in the past, and there is still space for it today. On the ground floor, you’ll find a fully equipped utility room, which can be entered through the patio. The utility room contains a washer, tumble dryer, ironing board, and essential utensils for the household. You’ll also find towels for the sun loungers at Casa Bella Mirada and beach towels, beach mats, and beach umbrellas (parasols). In addition, the electricity generated during the day with the photovoltaic system on the roof is stored in this room.

Mobile working

The study

The second floor features a fully equipped study. More and more often, attending to professional tasks simply cannot be completely avoided while you are on holiday. You might have to manage your team or join a videoconference or two … or simply take the time to plan and think about things further afield from your regular workplace or desk. This is all possible at Casa Bella Mirada. A first-class WLAN connection creates the right conditions for productivity. And you’ll be in a setting that captures that holiday flair.

Exercise does the body good

The gym

It’s up to you — cycling, rowing, or endurance on the elliptical cross trainer. You can train your entire body using dumbbells and barbells. The large mirror makes it simple to observe each workout closely and to correct your posture. For a quieter workout, roll out the yoga mat and practice your personal hatha, vinyasa, fascia training, or yin yoga.

Loving attention paid to every detail

The entrance

Upon entering Casa Bella Mirada, you will be welcomed by the luxurious and loving atmosphere of this Mallorcan townhouse. You will find yourself standing in a big and bright entrance. On the left there is a small, charming bathroom with shower. Behind it is the connecting door to the garage. You’ll be captivated by the interior design and harmonic colour scheme that make you dream of summer, sun, blue skies, and turquoise bays.

Equally wonderful: the town of Artà in northeast Mallorca

The extraordinary landscape in the northeast of Mallorca has probably been inhabited since the island was first settled. Archaeological findings in the municipality of Artà bear witness to this. Artà was first mentioned in 1232 in the “Llibre de repartiment des mallorca” of Jaume I. It is listed under the name “Yartân” in this historic document. The name is probably derived from the Arabic word “Gertan” (garden). And even today, Puig de Sant Salvador, on which the fortress with its pilgrimage church sits, suggests that there might have been beautiful gardens there in the past. From Puig de Sant Salvador, there is an incredible panoramic view over the hills, the almond plantations, and the olive groves to Capdepera and the coast.

Artà itself is a lively artists’ town that has retained its Malloquin charm through and through. As you explore Artà, you will be quite impressed by the town itself – and also see that Artà forms a cohesive whole. The steep and narrow streets that start at the foot of Puig de Sant Salvador and radiate out from the fortress are quite typical of Artà. While strolling through the alleyways, you will find countless nooks and crannies to delight. The centre of Artà is home to numerous cafes, tapas bars, restaurants, and bars. It also has a large number of small shops and boutiques offering local products, handicrafts, and articles from around the world.

Every Tuesday, there is a weekly market in the centre of Artà. Tourists and locals alike shop at the market. That is one of the many special things about Artà – visitors and residents sit side by side in the restaurants and bars both in summer and winter. So you, too, can participate in local life in a unique way.
